ASCO in Hot Water
The ASCO 8290 Angle Body Multi-Purpose Valve Series are a great choice for Hot Water
and Steam Service for the Food and Beverage Industry. The 8290 Series also works
on General Service applications like air, inert gas, oil and light slurries. The
8290 Series consists of 2-way direct acting valves available in normally closed
or normally open constructions. Built for demanding applications, these valves come
in a straight-through body design made of bronze or stainless steel. There are many
optional features including visual/electric position indicators or a single stroke
limiter.
The 8290 Proportional Valves incorporate compact postioners technology to provide
you with proportional control of fluids. The 8290 Proportional Valves are completely
pre-assembled and preset at the factory for tight disc shutoff and provided with
a test and calibration certificate.
Some key features of the 8290 Series Valves are:
- Rugged Watertight actuator – made from tough fiber composite and protected with
double o-rings
- Spring Loaded Stem Seal – The Viton flouroelastomer wiper keeps harmful grit away
from the stem area
- High Flow Rate – Optimization of the fluid flow path
- PTFE Seal – For bubble tight shut off
- Anti-Water Hammer – The fluid passes under the disc resulting slower closure
- Standard Visual Indicator – With clear polypropylene cover
- ASCO Pilot Valves- The industry standard for reliability and durability
- Position Monitoring (optional)

Microza® Protects Against Water-Borne Contaminants
Conventional water treatment upstream of nanofiltration and reverse osmosis systems
can include sand filtration, flocculations, ion exchange resins and cartridge filtration.
For a more economical and reliable approach, Pall has developed a compact system
that uses Microza Hollow Fiber modules for the replacement of most conventional
water treatment steps upstream of reverse osmosis or nanofiltration. The modules
are available in Microfiltration or Ultrafiltration grades to meet the application
requirements.
Since membrane technology provides a positive barrier, the Microza LGV modules provide
a much higher security against waterborne contamination than traditional systems.
The hollow fiber membranes have low fouling characteristics and are mechanically
strong so that they can be backflushed to ensure stable operation. The quality of
the filtered water meets requirements and remains stable even if the raw water quality
is variable. The hollow fibers remove oxidized iron and manganese and organic contaminants.
They provide exceptional security for microbial contaminants such as molds, cysts
and viruses.
